Pre-Ground Coffee Option
This option allows you to pour pre-ground coffee into a funnel that is accessed by lifting a small lid on top of the machine. This feature is perfect when there is someone in the crowd who wants a decaffeinated espresso and there are only caffeinated espresso beans in the machine, or if you wish to sample other blends of coffee. Select the “pre-ground” option using the Ring control, then pour pre-ground coffee of your choice into the special coffee receptacle on top of the machine, then push the brew button. After making a cup of coffee with the pre-ground option, the machine automatically resets back to the beans held in the machine. It抯 all up to taster choice.
Special Pre-infusion Brew System Cycle
Pre-infusion allows you to get maximum flavor from the brewing process. This advanced system takes the newly ground coffee beans from the internal coffee grinder and correctly tamps the coffee. Next comes are-infusion.? To optimize the flavor extraction, a special step injects a little hot water into the freshly ground coffee, in order to soak it and let it swell up. This is done just before the actual brew cycle commences. The grounds are pre-soaked and then brewed before being discarded automatically into the internal dump box. The machine then resets itself for the next brewing cycle. The Talea offers programming options for the pre-infusion cycle and infusion time.

Ceramic Coffee Grinder
The ceramic grinder is Saeco’s most recent innovation. After careful research, Saeco chose this material to put an end to grinding with metal components. Indeed ceramic is inert, and thus ensures the best results without altering the flavor of coffee.

Aqua Prima Water Filter

Hot Water Dispenser & Rapid-Steam? Technology
The Saeco Talea features Saeco’s patented Rapid-Steam? system! Turn the steam knob and have instant steam for cappuccinos or lattes. Other systems can have you waiting up to 45 seconds for the steam function to be ready but not with Rapid-Steam?; you抣l have consistent steam for repeated drinks.
The special milk frothing tip delivers perfect foam every time for lattes or cappuccinos, even if you have never foamed milk before! The steam wand is located on the right front of the machine and it accommodates frothing pitchers up to 32 oz. If you need instant hot water for making tea, hot cocoa, or Americanos, the hot water feature is available at the press of a button.
The water reservoir can easily be refilled while it is still on the machine or by removing it with the easy-grip handle and filling it at the kitchen tap. The reservoir is made of clear ABS plastic so checking the water level is a breeze.

Coffee Bean Storage Hopper & Internal Waste Box
Keeping 1/4 pounds of coffee beans fresh and ready for grinding is the built in, lidded coffee bean hopper. When the coffee grounds are spent, the machine delivers them to the internal dump box; which can hold up to 15 expended coffee portions. It抯 easy to remove and clean.
Stainless Steel Heating System
One of the reasons the Talea is great for anything from small commercial settings to home or office use, is its durable stainless steel boiler. It provides for continuous use or a lot of servings over a short time period.
Adjustable Drip Tray
The Saeco Talea Ring Plus has an automated adjustable height drip tray that raises or lowers the cups below the coffee dispensing spouts. By pressing the button on the drip tray either up or down, a motor will automatically raise or lower the tray to the desired height depending on the height of your espresso cups or coffee mugs.
Heated Cup Stacking Surface
Located on the top of this machine is a heated surface made of non-stick metal that allows you to stack up those espresso cups and keep them toasty. Using the on-screen functions, you can turn this feature on or off.
Rolling Base
The Saeco Talea is a little too heavy to be picking up and moving around on your counter. Saeco took care of this by adding special rollers to the Talea. Getting into your espresso machine for cleaning and maintenance is important for the long life of your machine. The rolling base makes it easy to access all sides of your machine to remove the water tank and open the side service door.
Cleaning & Maintenance of Components
In order to keep the inside of your machine healthy; your machine must be cleaned periodically. Scale buildup from naturally occurring minerals in your water can build up on sensitive components like the inside of the boiler, which left unchecked can cause considerable damage to the machine. By descaling your machine every two-three months, your machine will last for many trouble-free years. Saeco espresso machine cleaner can be purchased from us or by calling the support number in your user guide.
The machine will tell you when it抯 time to activate the self-clean system by when the light comes on. After adding our cleaner, just press the clean button. The machine will take it from there. Descaling and general cleaning is important even if you have a sophisticated water filter system, and especially if you use well water.
Used coffee grounds are collected in the internal dump box, which can hold up to 15 spent portions of coffee before it requires emptying. Wastewater left over from the rinsing cycles is stored in a removable drip tray. When the indicator light illuminates, simply pull out the tray, empty and reinsert in seconds. All components such as the used grounds container, drip tray, and water tank can be hand washed with regular soap and water.
