This grinder is available in both semi automatic and fully automatic. Most brands of grinders are similar. Watch out for the cheap ones where the doser breaks after 100 pulls. They will cost more headache, time. It is mostly a matter of preference. This grinder and the Rancilio model 50 are comparable in quality and size.
