Our reliable Mr. Coffee (which has got to be at least 12 years old) is dying a slow and painful death — sputtering, splashing, sending through whole grounds. We’ve tried cleaning it a number of times, but it doesn’t make a difference.
so it’s probably time for a replacement. Here are some features we’d like it to have: at least an 8-cup capacity; programmable timer (to set the night before), interrupt feature, so we can pour a cup while it’s brewing. We’d also prefer something that’s white in color, and not a funky, retro-looking thing. Oh yeah — I don’t want to pay $80 for it, either.
Is there something that meets the above criteria and isn’t super expensive? So far, everything that gets good ratings seems to be $100+ — and that seems like a lot to me. What coffee maker do you use and like? Where can I get the best deal on buying a new one.
